Hej Cam. Nice to read about your every day life :-) I like your phrase on Linux "It both sucks and blows". I'm a nerd and prefer *NIX over Windows and my experiences regarding stability are better with Linux then Windows (and I don't have to pay for a license). My server at home, runs very stable and can do all the things me or my wife (a fanatic Apple fan) needs. Upgrading however, is someting I do in a very controlled way, as something might stop working and support needs to come from forums and google. And there are usually a number of challenges when new hardware is to be installed, requiring a kernel re-compile at least or maybe even installing unstable patches. And lets not mention upgrading to a new kernel version, enabling or improving one feature but breaking or disabling another. For this reason, I have yet to convert to Linux on my desktop that requires much more dynamics from plug and play to support for all sorts of codecs and browser-plugins.

This should by no means start a flame war seen on many forums and blogs, but it merely confirms the header of your article ;-) I would prefer Linux any time and will probably convert my desktop at some time, but would probably never advise my dad (though handy with computers) to replace Windows with Linux ;-)

Right... back to work. Catch you soon and say hi to Nicky.
